Ex-DR Congo international Kidiaba, who famed for the 'bum shuffle' goal celebration, has retained his position as goalkeeping coach.

Five-time African champions TP Mazembe have confirmed the appointment of Senegalese Lamine Ndiaye as their new head coach.

Ndiaye replaces Pamphile Mihayo, who has been demoted to an assistant coaching role at the Ravens.

It would be his second stint with the Democratic Republic of Congo giants, having been in charge of the team when they won the 2010 CAF Champions League.

Frenchman Alexandre Jurain will also be an assistant coach, while his countryman Matthieu Mansutier has been named the new physical trainer.

Retired Congo national team player Robert Kidiaba will continue as goalkeeping coach.

Mihayo was appointed in October 2022 and, since then, has overseen a couple of disappointing results, including elimination from 2022/2023 CAF Champions in the second round by Ugandan outfit Vipers SC.

That was his third stint, having coached the Ravens in 2017 and before returning in 2021 for a second spell in charge of five-time Africa champions.

For Ndiaye, he had joined the Club at the start of the 2010 season but was sacked in 2013 despite winning that year's Club World Cup silver medal. Mazembe lost 3-0 in the final to Inter Milan in a game where Mihayo and Kidiaba featured.

The 63-year-old gaffer's last job was at Guinean giants Horoya AC where he resigned in November 2022.

The former US Rail striker made history with Conakry giants winning numerous titles, and the Club regularly qualified in interclub competitions, including the CAF Champions League.

Apart from Horoya, Ndiaye coached Cameroon's Coton Sport de Garoua, Morocco's Maghreb Fez, Congo's TP Mazembe, and Sudan's Al-Hilal.

Former Senegal international started coaching in France, overseeing FC Mulhouse between 1997 and 1998.

He was in charge of Senegal at the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana following the resignation of Polish coach Henri Kazperczak.

During his playing days, Ndiaye turned out for several clubs, including Cannes and Mulhouse in the French Ligue 1.
