Chelsea are reportedly one of the clubs of the clubs that could capitalise on Kylian Mbappe's situation at PSG.

Premier League giants Chelsea are reportedly keeping abreast of the Kylian Mbappe situation and could be ready to make an offer should Paris Saint-Germain put him up for sale.

Mbappe tells PSG he will not renew

As Pulse Sports reported earlier, French superstar Julian Mbappe has reportedly notified Paris Saint-Germain that he will not be triggering the one-year extension on his contract.

The 25-year-old only recently signed a two-plus-one-year contract extension last summer after a protracted transfer saga in which he was inches away from joining Real Madrid.

According to reports, the option for one year can only be triggered by the player, and with one year gone already, this could mean Mbappe will be available on a free transfer at the end of next season should he refuse to renew.

Chelsea attentive to the situation

According to the Times, the Todd Boehly consortium-owned club is paying attention to the developments in France and will be expected to register interest in the forward.

The Blues have flexed their financial muscles since the takeover by the American business, spending over £600 million in transfers.

This has in part led to a bloated squad, and the two-time Champions League winners are expected to focus on exits this coming summer transfer window.

However, per the report, Chelsea will get into any eventual race for the Russia 2018 champion.

They will expect to face competition from Real Madrid, who are believed to be the preferred destination for the forward, as he was close to joining them last summer before signing a new contract with the Parisians.
