CHAN 2024 Tickets Go on Sale Tuesday as East Africa Prepares for Kickoff

Football fever has been running across the nerves of fans across East Africa as the Local Organizing Committee for the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN) announced that match tickets will officially go on sale Tuesday, 15th July.

CHAN LOC chairman Nicholas Musonye confirmed that all tickets will be sold exclusively online. Regular tickets will be priced at Ksh 200, VIP seats at Ksh 500, and VVIP passes at Ksh 1,000.

“Each ticket will be valid for one match and will be sold online through a platform that will be communicated soon,” Musonye said.

This year’s CHAN tournament promises high-octane action as 19 teams, divided into four groups, compete for the title from 2nd to 30th August.

East Africa Hosts a Football Spectacle

Tanzania will set the ball rolling on 2nd August when the Taifa Stars face the Stallions of Burkina Faso in the opening match at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

The excitement will continue the next day in Nairobi, where Kenya will clash with two-time champions D.R. Congo at Kasarani Stadium—a matchup expected to draw thousands of passionate supporters.

Uganda’s Cranes will begin their Group C campaign on 4th August against Algeria at the Mandela National Stadium Namboole in Kampala.

Musonye expressed confidence that the streamlined online system will curb ticket counterfeiting and deliver a better experience for attendees. He urged fans to prepare early and take advantage of the convenience of digital purchases.

Fans Encouraged to Buy Early

Football lovers are being encouraged to secure their tickets as soon as sales open on Tuesday to avoid last-minute disappointment.

Given the caliber of matches on the schedule and the popularity of the teams, many fixtures are expected to sell out quickly.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is banking on this edition of CHAN to set a new benchmark for regional tournaments, showcasing not only homegrown talent but also the organizing capabilities of East African nations.
