The defender joined AIK back in January 2020 and has scored 13 goals and three assists in 86 games.

Following a plethora of transfer links, former Gor Mahia defender Erick Marcelo Ouma looks finally set to leave AIK in the off-season transfer window with two clubs expressing interest in his services.

After a highly successful stint at the Swedish outfit, Ouma attracted interest from Atalanta, Rubin Kazan, Wolfsburg, Leicester City, Celtic, and Crystal Palace last season.

AIK have previously been reluctant to sell their highly prized asset after what is believed to be unsatisfactory bids from interested clubs.

Following an abysmal start to the campaign this season, AIK may be forced to sell Ouma in order to maximize their profits on the player and also to overhaul their squad after the disappointing start.

According to Swedish news outlet Expressen, two unnamed clubs have submitted their bids for Ouma with a number also reported to be interested in the marauding left-back.

“It was before the 2020 season that Erick Otieno joined AIK. Since then, he has been cemented in the club’s starting eleven and a cog in the back line.

“The left-back may now leave AIK, several foreign clubs are following him and that two have also made bids. According to the newspaper, it is still unclear how AIK evaluated the bids,” read an article from Expressen.

Ouma is currently serving a suspension after he was red-carded following an altercation during their Stockholm derby against Djurgårdens.

The former Vasalund defender has just concluded his national team duties with Harambee Stars following the disappointing Four Nations Tournament and is expected to jet back to Sweden to link with AIK.

The Swedish club football calendar is still on but with a number of European leagues currently on a summer break a transfer is still on the cards.
