Tusker FC coach Charles Okere urged his new signings, including Eric Kapaito, to adapt quickly after their opening-day defeat to KCB.
The Football Kenya Federation Premier League started on a high, with KCB stunning 13-time champions Tusker FC in their opening match at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, on Friday night.
Boniface Omondi scored a brace to give the bankers the lead and finally hand them the much-needed victory over the Brewers. The former Gor Mahia forward found the back of the net in the 19th and 39th minutes.
The match was marred with controversy after KCB defender Nashon Wekesa remained on the pitch despite being booked twice. As per Nation Sport, one of the match officials noted that it was a miscommunication on their end.

‘I am Gutted’ - Harambee Stars Midfielder Expresses Frustration After Ksh12M Transfer is Blocked
Harambee Stars midfielder Alpha Onyango has shared his disappointment at being denied a move to paid ranks abroad by his club Gor Mahia.
“Well, first loss of the season and I believe it was a tricky encounter; we were playing against a strong team also. We also want to congratulate the opponents on the points, but it was our first match, and I believe we could have done better,” Charles Okere said.
“It is a game that we had planned well for, and, unfortunately, we conceded those two goals. We got scoring opportunities, that is something that we have to improve moving on to our next match, so it’s pressure already, and we have to adapt quickly so that we catch up with the rest of the pack.”
Tusker FC face off against Posta Rangers in their next match, on Saturday, September 27, and they will be out to prove a point, especially after their first loss of the season.
