Kakamega Homeboyz striker Moses Shumah leads the FKF Premier League Golden Boot race, outpacing big names from Tusker, Kenya Police and Gor Mahia as the season nears its end.

Kakamega Homeboyz’s Moses Shumah has emerged as the frontrunner in the race for the FKF Premier League Golden Boot, flooring more established names and big club strikers as the season edges to a close.

With 17 goals to his name, Shumah has not only led his team’s attacking charge but also proven himself a clinical finisher, staying a step ahead of fellow contenders Emmanuel Osoro of FC Talanta with 16 goals and Tusker FC’s Ryan Ogam with 15 goals.

5 Most Beautiful CHAN 2024 Stadiums

CHAN 2024 will showcase East Africa’s top stadiums, with a stunning lineup of upgraded, beautiful, and high-capacity venues across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

Shumah’s goal-scoring spree has been a standout feature of Kakamega Homeboyz’s campaign this season.

While he may not play for one of the so-called “traditional giants” like Gor Mahia, Tusker or champions Kenya Police, the forward has consistently delivered when it mattered most, scoring in big matches and proving vital in tight fixtures.

His current tally puts him in pole position for the top scorer award, with just one matchday remaining.

If he maintains his lead, Shumah will become one of the few players outside Nairobi-based clubs to clinch the Golden Boot in recent years.

Big Names in the Shadows

Trailing just behind is Emmanuel Osoro of FC Talanta with 16 goals. Osoro has been equally impressive, leading the line for his side and keeping the pressure on Shumah.

Tusker’s Ryan Ogam follows with 15 goals, showing his usual sharpness despite Tusker’s inconsistent campaign.

Further down the list, players like Nyamawi Beja (Bandari FC), Bryan Michira (Shabana FC), are tied on 12 goals while Francis Kahiro (KCB FC), and Austine Odhiambo (Gor Mahia FC) sit on 10 goals

Their contributions have been crucial for their respective teams but may fall just short in the Golden Boot chase.

With the final FKFPL matchday looming, all eyes will be on Shumah to see if he can hold off the challenge and etch his name into the league’s scoring history.
