With this key step in the transfer process underway, the club is now expected to shift its focus toward securing additional targets to strengthen the squad further ahead of the new season.

Reports have emerged that Arsenal are now stepping up negotiations with Crystal Palace for Eberechi Eze.

According to The Independent, Arsenal are hoping to secure Palace's star player for £60 million. Eberechi Eze's release clause is £68 million, but the report suggests the two clubs will find mutually agreeable terms.

Eze himself is reportedly keen on a move to the Emirates. Of all the clubs interested in him, he prefers to join Mikel Arteta's side. The deal is expected to be completed in early August.

Arsenal plans to sell some of their current players before making a formal offer for Eberechi Eze, but this isn't a prerequisite for the transfer.

Reiss Nelson could potentially move in the opposite direction to Crystal Palace. Last season, Eberechi Eze played 34 Premier League matches, scoring 8 goals and providing 8 assists.
