Otieno, who joined Leicester from Chelsea last summer, is determined to force his way into the first team permanently.

Harambee Stars prospect Silko Thomas Otieno has expressed his ambition to secure a spot in Leicester City's first-team squad in the future after he made the bench for their recent Emirates FA Cup victory over Birmingham City last weekend.

Otieno, who signed from Chelsea in the summer, is eager for more opportunities in a Leicester shirt and understands the importance of dedicated training in order to catch the manager's attention.

Reflecting on his involvement in the senior matchday squad, Thomas admitted excitement as it was a milestone he had long been dreaming of completing.

“I found out the day before. It was hard going to bed and getting to sleep, I can tell you that because I could only imagine that maybe I would come on. It's a dream."

Having received the call-up to train with the First Team, Thomas is optimistic about his future contributions.

"It shows that I can do it, and only a matter of time before I get back over there and hopefully get on.”

With a strong work ethic and determination, the 19-year-old is focused on continued improvement, expressing, “For sure if I keep working hard, that's what I'm looking to do, get over there and keep impressing.”

Following the Under-21s’ recent 2-1 defeat to Southampton in a Premier League 2 clash, Otieno discussed the team's frustration and the need to become more ruthless in front of goal.

Despite the setback, he remains focused on continuous improvement and is confident in the squad's potential to climb the league standings.

“It’s very frustrating. We just need to keep working on it in training and get back on the field and just work on it. And next game, hopefully, we can be more clinical.

“If we can play like that in every game for the rest of the season, I think we have a good chance of getting back up the league,” Thomas explained.

A key figure for the Development Squad this season, Thomas has contributed significantly, scoring in both PL2 and the Premier League Cup, as well as finding the net in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.

“It’s been very good, getting my confidence up and I find it very beneficial. I know that people are going to be watching me. I'm out there, so I just need to keep doing what I'm doing on the pitch, keep impressing, and hopefully soon I'll be back over there (with the First Team).”
