Despite administrative hurdles, the Kisii-based side aims for top five finish and strategic plans for next season.

Gusii FC, under the guidance of coach Kassim Junior Otieno, is gearing up for a crucial upcoming match against Mully Children's Family (MCF) on Sunday at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

With the end of the season fast approaching, the team is determined to secure a top-five finish in the National Super League (NSL) standings.

Speaking with the media, coach Otieno acknowledged the challenges they faced during the season, which caused them to lose their rhythm as a team at times.

However, the experienced gaffer remains optimistic about their chances and believes that a strong finish is within their reach.

"Our upcoming match against MCF is crucial for us. We have had challenges at some point of the league where we lost our rhythm as a team," he stated.

"But now, we are focused and determined to give a good showing in the next season. As the current season comes to a close, we will sit down and strategize, aiming to secure promotion to the FKF Premier League.”

Gusii currently sits in fifth place on the league table, with 44 points accumulated from 30 matches played.

While they were once considered favorites for promotion to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL), administrative problems affected the club's performance.

Nevertheless, the team has shown resilience and determination, aiming to finish the season on a high note.

The upcoming match against MCF presents a crucial opportunity for Gusii FC to solidify their position in the top five.

With Shabana and Murang'a Seal already securing their places in the top-flight league, Gusii FC is motivated to join them in the next season.
