Gaspo Women FC team manager has been suspended amidst serious sexual harassment allegations involving underage players between 2021 and 2023.

Gaspo Women FC team manager Edward Githua has been provisionally suspended from all football-related activities following a series of grave allegations of sexual harassment.

The allegations, primarily involving underage players who served as ball girls between 2021 and 2023, have stirred significant concern in the sports community.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) confirmed the suspension in a statement on Wednesday evening, indicating that the accusations against Githua include inappropriate behavior that allegedly created a hostile and unsafe environment for the youngsters during their tenure with the club.

"The FKF Safeguarding Department has reached out to Mr. Githua regarding the allegations. He is expected to appear before the FKF Disciplinary Committee to respond to these serious claims," the FKF statement outlined.

The federation emphasized its commitment to justice and a fair investigation process, but has chosen to withhold further comments until a conclusive resolution is reached by the Disciplinary Committee.

The FKF Women's Premier League outfit is currently positioned 11th in the 12-team table, with five points from 12 matches.
