AFC Leopards Thrown into Mourning as Top Club Official Passes Away
AFC Leopards have confirmed the sudden death of the club’s secretary general Gilbert Andugu.
Leopards announced Andugu’s passing on Tuesday morning, throwing the club’s fraternity into mourning.
Andugu has been a prominent figure within Leopards given his position as he was among the key decision makers at the club and although the cause of death is still not clear, he is reported to have been ill in the past one year.

He, however, did not show signs of weakness during this period as he still managed to discharge his duties.
“We are deeply saddened by the news of passing on of our Secretary General Mr. Gilbert Andugu Our thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to Andugu's family, friends and relatives,” Leopards announced through a social media post.
Andugu was serving his first term, having been elected in June 2022, but had announced that he would not be seeking reelection in next month’s polls.
The departed secretary general was key to many decisions made by Leopards, including player transfers, and was the main signatory when it came to financial issues.
