I will be forever grateful to you — Osimhen sends huge message to Galatasaray as exit looms
Victor Osimhen has expressed his deep affection for Galatasaray as his loan spell in Turkey comes to an end.
The Osimhen situation
Initially expected to be a brief intermission before he secures a move to a top European club after failing in that regard last summer, there is increasing belief that the Nigerian will stay at the club beyond his current loan spell, as he has fallen in love with the club, and they with him.
However, Cekar, an expert in Turkish football, believes Osimhen is closer to leaving than staying, presenting a rational argument that an offer from a top European club with chances of winning the Champions League could be too good to turn down for the Nigerian.
What he said
Cekar argued that the Cim-Bom should maintain their dominance in the Super Lig if Mauro Icardi returns to top form after his ACL injury and they manage to retain Morata. He said that to implore Galatasaray fans to retain their respect for Osimhen if he decides against staying at the club beyond this season.
"If Icardi comes back healthy, he can carry Galatasaray with Morata,” Cekar said, per GsGazette. “I think there is a 90% chance that Osimhen will leave Galatasaray. If it were me, if I received an offer from teams like Juventus, PSG, Manchester United or Liverpool, I would play in Europe. In such a case, the fans should respect him. If he is healthy, Thomas Müller can also do a job at Galatasaray."
Meanwhile, the love Osimhen has received from Galatasaray fans is unprecedented, by his own admission. Lately, a section of the Galatasaray fan club sent him an open letter, pleading with him to stay at the club.
