Cristiano Ronaldo’s future in Saudi Arabia has now become clear after he reached an agreement with Al Nassr.

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly set to extend his contract with Al Nassr, keeping him in Saudi Arabia despite previous hints about a potential move.

According to transfer news guru Fabrizio Romano, discussions are underway for a new deal that could see the five-time Ballon d'Or winner remain with the club until 2027. The 40-year-old joined Al Nassr in January 2023 after his departure from Manchester United.

Despite earning a substantial salary exceeding £100 million annually, Ronaldo hasn't been able to lead Al Nassr to a title.

The team recently finished third in the Saudi Pro League after a 3-2 defeat to Al-Fateh, a game in which Ronaldo scored. Following the season's end, Ronaldo posted a cryptic message on social media: "This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all." Many interpreted this as a farewell to Al Nassr.

However, Ronaldo now appears poised to stay, despite FIFA president Gianni Infantino's recent suggestion that the star might join a Club World Cup participant.

Infantino hinted at ongoing discussions, telling YouTuber IShowSpeed, "Ronaldo might play for one of the teams as well at the Club World Cup." Al Nassr did not qualify for the tournament, with Al-Hilal being the sole Saudi Arabian representative.

While Ronaldo has an impressive record of 99 goals in 111 appearances for Al Nassr, individual brilliance hasn't translated into team success. It has been five years since his last league title, won with Juventus.

His high salary demands and age likely deter potential suitors, though Ronaldo maintains he has no immediate plans to retire.

Al-Nassr parted ways with Italian coach Stefano Pioli on Wednesday as the shakeup continues after the less than impressive season.
