Akhulia had slammed his attacking charges for their toothless display against Kenya Police but reveled in their improved performance against Bandari.

Bidco United head coach Anthony Akhulia is pleased with his attacking players’ much better display against Bandari as they played a crucial part in sinking the Dockers 2-0.

Akhulia was far from pleased by their display against Kenya Police FC, a game they lost 2-0 with the attacking players looking devoid of any ideas to give their side a chance to score and salvage some points, which left Akhulia furious.

However, the side looked much better against Bandari, scoring two goals by halftime to set the game to match and take the Thika-based side to fifth place in the league standings.

Speaking after the match, Akhulia praised Chris Opondo, former Kariobangi Sharks midfielder Sharrif Musa, and Eric Michubu for their efforts in helping the side stroll to victory.

“Sharrif Musa, Chris Opondo and Michubu did a very good job,” Akhulia said. “They are the same guys that played against Police and we did not see anything from them,” he added.

“In football, there are second chances and it was good to give them a chance again to see if they would have done better.

“We were more creative in the first half, that is why we played Chris in the number 10 role. We knew that with Musa and Michugu either side of him, the ball would flow very fast and we thank God for the win.”

The result for Bidco now means they have collected nine points and are seven behind league leaders Posta Rangers after six league matches played.

In six matches, they have won two, drawn three and lost one. Their wins came against Bandari and FC Talanta.

Their draws have come against Posta Rangers, City Stars, and Nzoia Sugar. Akhulia expressed satisfaction and said he would be giving his players a week off as a reward for a stellar performance against the Dockers.
