Bandari FC's Derrick Nsimbabi will miss the crucial Gor Mahia clash due to shoulder surgery recovery following an injury against Nairobi City Stars.

Bandari FC striker Derrick Nsimbabi is on the mend following a successful shoulder surgery at a Mombasa hospital.

The Uganda international sustained a shoulder injury during a collision in the match against Nairobi City Stars on Saturday 10 February at Mbaraki Grounds, which saw Bandari facing a narrow 1-0 defeat.

The incident occurred when Nsimbabi collided with City Stars goalkeeper Edwin Mukolwe, leading to an injury that necessitated surgical intervention.

The club has since announced that the surgery was successful and Nsimbabi is expected to make a swift return to his home for recovery.

"Our striker Derrick Nsimbabi underwent shoulder surgery at the Aga Khan Hospital yesterday, and he is expected to return home today. Join us in wishing him a speedy recovery," stated the official release from Bandari FC.

Prior to this setback, Nsimbabi, who joined Bandari in the off-season transfer window, had already made a significant impact by netting five goals.

His absence on the field will be keenly felt by the team, especially as they prepare to take on league leaders Gor Mahia this Saturday at Mbaraki Grounds.

In addition to Nsimbabi's absence, Bandari FC will continue to miss the services of attacking midfielder Robert Onyango, who is sidelined due to a thigh muscle injury.

Meanwhile, Bandari has reportedly increased their entrance fees for the upcoming clash.

Historically, fans could attend matches at Mbaraki Sports Club for Ksh 100 or 200. However, the fee has been set at Ksh 500 for the upcoming showdown with Gor Mahia.
