Manchester United have managed to offload blundering goalkeeper Andre Onana after reaching an agreement with a Turkish club for his transfer.
Manchester United have finally managed to ship goalkeeper Andre Onana out of the club following an agreement of a deal with Turkish club Trabzonspor.
Onana had fallen down the pecking order this season with coach Ruben Amorim preferring Altay Bayindir in goal in their opening three Premier League games after a number of costly blunders from the Cameroonian last season.
With Bayindir also not covering himself in glory, the need for a new goalkeeper became more pressing and United finally signed Belgian Senne Lammens on transfer deadline day after coming close to landing Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez.

Kylian Mbappe Names 3 German Clubs That Were Close to Signing Him Before PSG Move
Kylian Mbappe has revealed how he came close to moving to Germany before PSG signed him for big money from Monaco in 2017.
Trabzonspor Not Paying A Fee for Onana
That spelt the end for Onana and with the transfer window closed in most European leagues, only Turkey and Saudi Arabia, whose windows are still open, became an option.
Trabzonspor have therefore agreed a season-long loan deal with United for Onana and according to transfer news guru Fabrizio Romano, no fee will be involved while the Turkish club do not have an option to buy the goalkeeper.
Onana’s time at Old Trafford has been marked with several schoolboy mistakes as after a decent first season, his form dipped in 2024-25 with key mistakes that cost United vital points or wins in cup matches and Amorim lost patience with him.
