AFC Leopards were on their way to their second win of the season before Sofapaka burst their bubble while Kariobangi Sharks suffered a 3-1 loss to Nairobi City Stars

AFC Leopards suffered a last-minute heartbreak as Sofapaka scored a 90th minute equaliser for a 1-1 draw in an FKF Premier League match at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday.

Leopards looked on their way to their second win of the season after Brian Yakhama had given them a 65th minute lead through a penalty but Batoto ba Mungu burst their bubble when veteran Humphrey Mieno levelled matters.

In a game of few chances, both sides, currently struggling at the bottom end of the table, rarely created anything of note with Leopards capitalising on a handball to score their goal.

However, the Ingwe defence could not hold on for a second straight game to draw a third match in their last four.

The stalemate leaves Leopards in 14th position on 10 points from 12 matches, two more than bottom-placed Sofapaka.

Meanwhile, Nairobi City Stars thrashed Kariobangi Sharks 3-1 as Bandari and FC Talanta played out a 1-1 draw in Mombasa.

The draw ended Bandari’s three-watch winning run but left them in fourth place on 20 points, five behind leaders Posta Rangers, while Sharks continue to struggle, having now suffered three straight losses.

It was a good outing for Talanta who continue to impress this season as they are sixth on the table with 19 points.
