AFC Leopards face Kariobangi Sharks as they return to Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.

Kariobangi Sharks and AFC Leopards will lock horns in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League match set to be played at Nyayo National Stadium this Sunday afternoon.

Sharks enter this clash fresh from a draw against Bandari on January 20th but despite the stalemate, they are eager to bounce back and regain their winning ways, especially after conceding goals in their last three consecutive matches.

Addressing their defensive issues is a top priority as they strive to seize this golden opportunity to secure a victory.

Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya has expressed the significance of the upcoming match for his team against the twelve-time league champions.

"Our entire squad acknowledges the importance of this fixture, particularly at this crucial stage of the competition. We are optimistic about a favorable outcome on Sunday," he told reporters.

"In general, I'm pleased with our performance this season, considering we have a youthful squad. Our aim is to secure a respectable finish by the end of the season."

On the flip side, AFC Leopards approach the match with soaring spirits, having triumphed in their last three encounters against Nairobi City Stars, Muhoroni Youth, and Ulinzi Stars.

This streak has extended their unbeaten run to five matches, a remarkable achievement.

Notably, Ingwe have maintained a flawless defensive record, with three consecutive clean sheets.

Eager to sustain their winning momentum, AFC Leopards are determined to clinch yet another victory in this upcoming fixture.

AFC Leopards' optimism is further fueled by the arrival of new additions, Rwandese striker Arthur Gitego and the promising 19-year-old Christopher Koloti.

Leopards coach Tomas Trucha is enthusiastic about their potential impact, stating, "This is my responsibility, and it's why I'm here. I have the task of working with these players to elevate the club. I see clear signs of improvement since I joined the team."

The task at hand for Kariobangi Sharks appears daunting as they have not managed to secure a victory against AFC Leopards in their last four meetings.

However, in football, surprises often occur, and Kariobangi Sharks will undoubtedly aim to rewrite history and emerge victorious in this crucial encounter.

AFC Leopards, who experienced a challenging start to the season, have steadily risen through the ranks and currently boast 24 points.

In contrast, Kariobangi Sharks find themselves in the 15th position with 19 points.
