The five Ulinzi Stars an upset in Kenya Police's hunt for their maiden FKF Premier League title.
The FKF Premier League is set to return on Good Friday following a fortnight-long break which allowed teams to take part in the FKF Cup Round of 16.
What better way to welcome back league football than with the Disciplined Forces Derby at the recently-reopened Ulinzi Sports Complex?
Kenya Police FC, the current league leaders, will be under pressure as they take on Ulinzi Stars, who appear resigned to a bottom-half finish this season.

The Law Enforcers lead the table with 49 points, just one ahead of second-placed Tusker FC. They also boast the league’s best defensive record, having conceded only 12 goals in 26 matches.
Ulinzi Stars, meanwhile, sit 13th on 28 points—only three above the Promotion/Relegation Playoff spot currently occupied by Murang’a Seal. Any slip-ups in their remaining eight games could drag them into the relegation scrap.
But how can Ulinzi boost their survival chances? And what players will be key in helping them cause an upset? Pulse Sports highlights five players that might poop the party for Police.

5 Key Ulinzi Stars Players Who Could Shoot Down Kenya Police in Forces Derby
Bonface Muchiri
)
Ulinzi Stars’ main Man Bonface Muchiri is definitely one player to watch for Ulinzi Stars, and could be key in extinguishing Kenya Police’s hopes of running away with the FKF Premier League title.
Expected to start on the left wing, Muchiri’s unpredictable dribbling, eye for line-breaking passes and deadly set-piece deliveries will be key in unlocking the otherwise resolute Kenya Police defence.
Given his experience playing for the national team as well as for previous club Tusker - with whom he won the 2020/2021 FKF Premier League title with - Muchiri’s experience and leadership will also come in handy as he attempts to win his battle with right back Daniel Sakari.
Yakeen Muteheli
)
Yakeen Mutheli will be a player full of confidence heading into the Police game, as it was his brace that sank Bidco United in the FKF Cup round of 16 to seal a place in the quarter finals of the competition last Sunday.
Mutheli incidentally got on the end of two deliveries from Bonface Muchiri, and Police will be careful not to concede free-kicks from dangerous situations, as Muteheli, who won a call-up to the national team Harambee Stars last November, is capable of causing damage.
Mutheli is also capable of shouldering the creative burden in an advanced role, and it will be interesting to see how he manages to contain Kenya Police’s double pivot of Brian Musa and Marvine Nabwire, who are both good at dropping deep to receive the ball and use their composure to dictate the tempo of the game while creating numerical advantages.

Ranking The 10 Best Footballers Of The 21st Century
The 21st century has witnessed some remarkable football talents on the pitch but who are the best players to ever play the game since the turn of the millennium?
Frederick Oduor
)
Defender Fredrick Oduor will be particularly important for the game tonight considering the physical presence that Kenya Police forwards Clinton Kinanga and Alfred Leku, who are both strong in the air, will bring to the party - a hall mark of Police’s game this season
Oduor’s physical presence should be able to help Ulinzi Stars avoid being taken apart, especially with Alvin Mangeni and Mohammed Bajaber set to cause havoc from the flanks and create space of Leku and Kinanga to find goalscoring opportunities.
Issa Lumumba
)
Issa Lumumba will be without his midfield partner in crime Emilio Brian who is away on international duty with the Kenya U-20 side Rising Stars.
Ibrahim Shambi might have to come in in his place for the game, but Lumumba’s ability to shoot from distance, as well as provide energy in that box to box role will be key in trying to avoid losing the midfield battle out there.

Issa Emuria
)
Goalkeeper Issa Emuria will be key for Ulinzi Stars, with his shot-stopping in particular set to be put to test for this game.
Police will likely have more of the ball and will create waves of attack given their dangerous players, so the shot-stopper will have to be at his absolute best for the game, just as he was when they lost to Sofapaka in their last league encounter.
