FOOTBALL Uproar as nineteen goal Omala is axed from Harambee Stars trip to Tehran

The team departs on Sunday for an International friendly against Iran.

Football fans have reacted with fury after free scoring Gor Mahia striker Benson Omala was dropped from Harambee Stars squad for the upcoming friendly against Iran.

Omala was the biggest casualty as coach Engin Firat named his final squad that will travel to Tehran for the match set to be played on Wednesday.

Sweden-based midfielder Collin Sichenje, and striker Masoud Juma have also been left behind alongside Bandari duo of Andrew Juma and Mohamed Siraj.

Omala has been overlooked despite scoring 19 goals in 19 matches that he has played in the current Football Kenya Federation Premier League season.

The Nzoia Sugar duo of Hassan Beja , Joseph Mwangi, KCB defender Maurice Ojwang and AFC Leopards goalkeeper Levis Opiyo were the first players to leave camp.

Experienced defenders David Ochieng and Abud Omar have made the cut in the department that consists of Joseph Okumu, Brian Mandela, Eric Ouma, Daniel Anyembe,David Sakari.

The squad is set to leave on Sunday for Tehran, where the match will be played at Azadi Stadium.
