She will be looking to hit her stride at the Brussels Diamond League on Friday, August 22. The American sprinting star has yet to reach the podium in a turbulent, injury-plagued season, and time is running out to fine-tune her performance ahead of her world title defence next month.

The Olympic 100m silver medalist has competed in the 100m only four times this season. Her opening race in Tokyo saw her finish fourth with a time of 11.47 seconds.

Sha’Carri Richardson later revealed she had been struggling with an unspecified injury sustained in February. She returned at the Prefontaine Classic in July, finishing a distant ninth behind her training partner and current top female sprinter, Melissa Jefferson-Wooden.

In her most recent race, Sha’Carri Richardson showed signs of improvement, posting a season's best of 11.05 for a sixth-place finish at the Silesia Diamond League. However, she will need to find another gear to challenge Jefferson-Wooden, who has been dominating the field.

Richardson will have her chance in Brussels, where she faces a stacked lineup that includes Jefferson-Wooden and sprinting legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.
