American sprint queen Sha’Carri Richardson may not have featured at Xiamen Diamond League but she still had high praise for the event where her boyfriend Christian Coleman was among the participants.
Richardson was among the spectators at the Egret Stadium for the season-opening Diamond League meeting as she turned up to offer support for Coleman.
Coleman finished a disappointing fourth in the 100m race won by South African Akani Simbine, who clocked 9.99 seconds, ahead of Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala (10.13 seconds) and Jeremiah Azu of Great Britain (10.17 seconds), having managed a time of 10.18 seconds.

Richardson, who is yet to open her season, ran in Xiamen in April last year, when she finished second in 200m, but she opted to skip the event this year although she travelled to China to support Coleman.
