ATHLOS, the women-only track event, has earned rare reviews from track and field stars following the successful hosting of the second edition this weekend.
ATHLOS, the women-only track event, whose second edition was held in New York on Saturday, has received plenty of praise from track and field stars for the manner it was organized.
Athletes who featured at the event pocketed $60,000 for winning a discipline with the 100m, 100m hurdles, 200m, 400m, 800m, one-mile and long jump the event being contested.
However, what took everyone by surprise was the fact that payment hit the athletes’ account immediately after their events, something that does not happen in track and field.

Athletes normally have to wait for months before they can receive their payment after a long-drawn-out process that includes a confirmation that the athletes were not involved in doping.

Brittany Brown Gets Last Laugh as She Mints More in One Hour Than Tokyo Gold Medalists

Also, the level of organization at ATHLOS is something very unique whose participants like Alaysha Johnson have given high praise.
Alaysha Johnson With Strong Defence of ATHLOS
“Yall, I think yall missing stuff from ATHLOS that maybe they didn’t show on TV,” Johnson explained what goes on behind the scenes at ATHLOS. “Red carpet walk out. -The setup was nuts.”
“Locker room. INSTACART full blown lounge with MUA touchups and free fresh pressed juice with a DJ who was eating down. And a whole media lounge; A full blown stage where they added long jumppppp, VIP couches on the track… open bar, rotating food & ACTUAL VIPS with a live DJ, not to mention whatever was going on in the actual stands and concession.”
“I’m confused lol ATHLOS is quite literally the most fun track meet I’ve ever attended in life. VIP couches on the track, open bar, coming out to a walkout song on stage, ACTUAL VIP in attendance… But maybe it didn’t translate well on screen?” she further said.

Johnson, who finished third in the 100m hurdles, then declared no other track meet comes close to ATHLOS.
“I really hate that yall couldn’t feel the vibes, comparing it to a regular track meet just won’t do!!!! It’s not even close yall,” she maintained.

Olympics 800m champion Keely Hodgkinson, who featured for the first time this year and won her race (800m), as well as former world 100m champion Sha’Carri Richardson also declared the event the “best meet ever.”
