Ethiopian Gudaf Tsegay ran a tactical race to floor Beatrice Chebet in the 1,500m at the Silesia Diamond League in Poland on Saturday.
Gudaf Tsegay had no equals as she totally destroyed the field to win the women’s 1,500m at the Silesia Diamond League on Saturday.
In a star-studded cast that also included Beatrice Chebet, Tsegay showed her intentions early, staying among the leading pack in the first lap but stormed off from the second one.
The Ethiopian left her rivals in her wake when it mattered most, running alone for half of the final lap, to win the race in a new meet record of 3:50.62 as Chebet settled for second place in 3:54.73.
