Olympic champions Sha’Carri Richardson, Gabby Thomas, and Noah Lyles turned heads at the 2025 Met Gala, using fashion to showcase their style and individuality.

Olympic champions Gabby Thomas, Sha’Carri Richardson, and Noah Lyles looked sharp as they attended the 2025 Met Gala.

The Met Gala is New York's biggest night of fashion, and each year, it brings together some of the world’s brightest stars, with this year’s edition held on Monday night.

The 2025 Met Gala theme, ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’, aims to spotlight the cultural and historical impact of Black dandyism, marking the first time in over 20 years that the event will centre around menswear.

Seeing top track and field athletes shine off the track was a memorable moment, breaking from the sport’s traditionally low profile as they increasingly embrace the spotlight.

Noah Lyles, the triple world champion, has been embracing the spotlight more with his unique sense of fashion.

Noah Lyles wore a Thom Browne suit and complemented it with Ana Khouri jewellery. The three-time world 200m champion revealed that he assumed people would wear trousers and thought shorts would be a unique way to show up.

"I saw the shorts and I was like, 'Everybody's going to be wearing pants. I can't be like everybody else. I gotta be different. You gotta talk to me different," Noah Lyles told E! News.

In 2025, the world’s most admired athletes are not only defined by their talent on the field but also by their global influence and impact as business moguls, and in this article, Pulse Sports analyses the athletes with the most fans in the world.

"We've got diamond-encrusted pearls that I don't think a lot of people have out there. This is billionaire jewellery."

On her part, Gabby Thomas also took her fashion to the runway with a Charlotte Tilbury designed by Ahluwalia. The triple Olympic champion was styled by Nell Kalonji, with her make-up done by Charlotte Tilbury.

Meanwhile, Sha’Carri Richardson, who is also a Host Committee member, did not disappoint as she stunned in a look inspired by ‘Black women power.’

She worked with Valentino’s Alessandro Michele to come up with a cream-coloured, strapless dress, Chantilly lace accents and a large bow at the back. The dress was also layered atop a lavender and wisteria-lace bodysuit with long sleeves.

Her hair was styled by Ikeyia Powell and Khyra Jenae, while makeup artists Kharisma Pari and Dana Michele ensured her bold purple look, with fully lavender eyeshadow, stood out.

Sha’Carri Richardson did not disappoint on her too, with nail artist Angie Aguirre coming through on that front.

“I want to represent the feminine power of Black women, and show that there is not just one particular way to be powerful and feminine at the same time,” Sha’Carri Richardson said in an interview with Women’s Wear Daily.

“Working with Alessandro just felt like a team coming together; he understood that I am a powerful Black woman and that I want to push norms, and he definitely wanted to do the same thing. Purple was my mom’s favourite colour, so I can see how it would look good on me, too.”

The stunning appearances of Noah Lyles, Sha’Carri Richardson and Gabby Thomas at the 2025 Met Gala not only highlighted the evolving merging of sport and fashion but also affirmed that today’s track and field stars are embracing their influence beyond the finish line.
