The women’s 4x100m relay world record is held by the Americans and currently stands at 40.82. The record was also set in 2012 by Tianna Bartoletta, Allyson Felix, Bianca Knight, and Carmelita Jeter.

“I draw the relay inspiration from the Jamaicans because they have the world record and they are good. They run very well when it comes to the relays but my role model in the 100m is Ferdinand Omanyala,” Omurwa told Pulse Sports.
This season, the 19-year-old has been off to a good start, competing in the second and third Athletics Kenya track and field weekend meets held at the Ulinzi Sports Complex and Nyayo National Stadium respectively.

“My body is doing okay and I have run well and I’m looking forward to enjoying a great season. I want to focus on the 100m and I might be chosen to compete in the relays. My target is to go to the World Relays and then the Olympic Games will come later,” Omurwa added.
