Edmund Serem has revealed three key things that contributed to his victory at the Kip Keino Classic despite being fatigued.
Edmund Serem is slowly making a name for himself in the world of steeplechase following his recent dominant display in the sixth edition of the Kip Keino Classic at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
The reigning world under-20 champion oozed class as he fought for the win, crossing the finish line in an epic 8:27.68 ahead of the Ethiopian duo of Dinka Fikadu and Gemechu Godana, who clocked personal best times of 8:27.97 and 8:31.82.
Edmund Serem has been impressive so far this season, claiming fourth place at the Diamond League Meeting in Xiamen before his second-place finish at the Meeting in Keqiao.

“I’m very happy to have won the race before home fans because they gave me a lot of motivation. I overcame the fatigue from the Diamond League Meeting in Rabat. We had not trained, and the fans' cheers were the ones that gave me the morale to keep going,” Edmund Serem revealed after the race.
“I have mentors, and I have been training with my elder brother, Amos Serem, who has motivated me. I have always followed what he does in training, and having mentors like Eliud Kipchoge has also helped a lot.”
