Athletics Kenya has secured Ksh 8 million in funding to support the 2025 National Championships and World Championships trials.
Athletics Kenya has received a major financial boost from the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), ahead of the National Championships scheduled for June 25 to 27 at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
The funds will also be used to organise the trials for the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan, from August 1 and 2.
KCB announced the sponsorship of Ksh 8 million during the unveiling of the deal on Tuesday, June 24, at Kencom.

Athletics Kenya Receives Major Boost
In a post shared on their Facebook page, Athletics Kenya announced that part of the sponsorship will go to the National Championships, with the remaining amount to be used at the trials.
“KCB Bank Kenya has announced a Sh8 million sponsorship deal with Athletics Kenya (AK) to support key athletics events in the federation’s 2025 calendar,” the post on Facebook read.
“The sponsorship was unveiled ahead of the National Athletics Championships, scheduled to take place from June 25–27 at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi.

The reigning Olympic 800m bronze medallist shared the great news with her fans, posting on her Facebook page shortly after the event.
“A beautiful day for Kenyan athletics!! Was part of the great celebration to mark the historic partnership between KCB Bank and Athletics Kenya,” Mary Moraa said.
“The Bank will facilitate the Kenya National Championships that starts tomorrow for three days at Ulinzi Sports Complex and the Kenyan trials for the 2025 World Athletics Championships scheduled August 1-2 at the same venue.”
