Akani Simbine has outlined a bold yet calculated approach to challenge Noah Lyles and Kishane Thompson in his quest for global dominance.

The fastest man in the world in 2025, Akani Simbine, has laid out a plan on the best way to obliterate Noah Lyles, Kishane Thompson and other sprinters.

Akani Simbine has already started his season dominantly, winning the bronze medal in the 60m at the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China, his first ever individual medal from a global championship.

Akani Simbine then proceeded to race in his first-ever 100m of the season at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix, where he clocked a stunning 9.90 seconds, the fastest time in the 100m so far this season.

The Paris Olympic Games 4x100m silver medallist revealed that he wants to continue training with high-class facilities like he did last season.

In 2024, Akani Simbine dropped four sub-10 performances, thanks to the training he had done for six weeks.

Simbine trained at the OIM Centre, which facilitates sprinters’ training, involving a variety of drills and exercises designed to improve speed, power, and endurance.

The training includes aspects like interval training, plyometrics, strength training, and specific sprinting drills.

“Hey man, I think it's just doing what we did this year (2024), but then just getting access to some of the machines that we use,” Akani Simbine said during an interview on the Ozow On Air podcast.

“So, we were on Camp this year in a place called the OIM centre, and they have all the tech that the coach dreams about having. We got to use that for 6 weeks before the Olympics, and in those 6 weeks, using all that stuff, I went to London to race the last Diamond legal circuit.

“I ran 9.86, then went to the Olympics, came down to the final in 9.82, and that was literally just from 6 weeks of prepping with the right stuff.”

Why Noah Lyles and Kishane Thompson have an upper hand

Akani Simbine added that Kishane Thompson and Noah Lyles are better than most African sprinters because they have the training equipment at their disposal.

He explained that for him, that is not the case since he has to go the extra mile and even pay for such training facilities.

Simbine revealed that when he gets such training equipment and gets to train without thinking about other factors, like he would get to a meet and accommodation struggles, then he will certainly be the one to beat.

“Kishane, Noah and Fred have those things, they have access to, those things, so it's just getting access to those things and being able to run and train without the stresses of ‘Hey man I need to think about how I'm going to get to the next meet, or how I'm going to get to this place, or how I'm going to pay for the accommodation.’” Akani Simbine revealed.

“Those are the kind of things that we think about, and if I don't have to think about those things, and we have all the access to the equipment that we need, that can get done.”

Akani Simbine’s bold blueprint to topple sprinting giants like Noah Lyles and Kishane Thompson is built on access to elite training resources and a stress-free preparation environment.
