‘You did it for me and Marcus brother’ - Sancho sends appreciation message to Bukayo Saka
Saka led England's triumph over Switzerland in the Euro quarterfinals, earning him the Man of the Match award.
After 80 minutes, his incredible goal guaranteed that extra time and penalties would be used to conclude the match.
He was also one of five penalty-takers who scored for England as they defeated Switzerland 5-3 in the shootout.
Sancho’s message to Saka
Manchester United outcast Sancho has heaped praises on Arsenal star Saka for his brave penalty kick against Switzerland.
Saka, Jadon Sancho, and Marcus Rashford were the three players who missed penalties in the shootout of the Euro 2020 final against Italy.
The England stars faced several criticisms including racial abuse from fans following the Three Lions loss to Italy in the final.
However, Sancho has hailed the winger for his confidence after England’s victory in the quarter-final.
Sancho took to Instagram and wrote, "I'm so proud of this guy @bukayosaka87! You did it for me and Marcus brother!"
Saka then reposted the message to his own Instagram story, and added the caption, "My boys."
Arsenal’s star performance was also hailed by fans and pundits, including the Prince of Wales, Prince Williams.
England will now face the Netherlands in the semi-final of the Euro 2024 as they edge closer to winning the trophy.
