A day before the launch, a branded 1xCup roadshow rolled through Webuye’s busiest streets, creating awareness ahead of the opening fixtures scheduled for October 18 and 19 at Webuye DEB Grounds.
The convoy, led by MC Wayne, Sokoto, and a DJ, made several stops to engage fans with giveaways including branded T-shirts, caps, and reflective vests. The roadshow announced participating teams and promoted the partnership between the organisers and 1xBet.
Tournament founder Salim Waziri said the new season would focus on high-quality organisation, inclusion, and community development.
“The goal for the season is a high-quality bracket, strong participation of women’s teams, and a visible social impact. Together with 1xBet, we are setting the right pace and organisational standards,” said Waziri.
The draw was conducted during the launch, with organisers emphasising fair competition and transparent procedures. Fixtures will be published in the coming days on the official platforms of the tournament and its partners.
Elena Zhdanova, 1xBet’s representative, reaffirmed the brand’s support for sustainable football development in Kenya.
“1xBet supports systemic change in the sports ecosystem. The Waziri 1xCup season showcases talent, raises the visibility of teams, and strengthens communities through education, safety initiatives, and access to sport for both women and men,” said Zhdanova.
The organisers also outlined plans for off-pitch initiatives. Previous seasons, supported by 1xBet, led to the establishment of small businesses including car washes, beauty salons, and grocery shops in Western Kenya.
This year’s edition will expand those programmes to include youth mentorship and business empowerment projects.
The full fixture list and group allocations will be released ahead of kick-off, followed by a series of social activations across Bungoma County.
The Waziri 1xCup has grown into one of Kenya’s most organised community football tournaments, combining structured competition with tangible benefits for players and fans.
