The Sixth Edition of the Waziri 1XBet Cup, a grassroots tournament which has produced established internationals like Manzur Okwaro and Collins Sichenje, is set to kick off later this month in four different counties.
Speaking ahead of the tournament, founder and patron Salim Waziri emphasized that the competition’s goal remains unchanged — to nurture young talent, promote sportsmanship, and unite communities through football.
“Football is more than just a game; it is a tool for transformation,” Waziri said in a previous interview.
“We started this initiative to give our youth a platform to showcase their abilities, stay away from social vices, and open doors to professional opportunities. The growth we’ve witnessed over the years shows the potential that lies in our grassroots.”
