'We aren't waiting for someone to leave to sign another player' - Amorim looking to bring in new signings
The Red Devils have already acquired Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Šeško, and the young Diego León this summer.
However, they have yet to offload any players deemed surplus to requirements by the Portuguese coach.
Amorim speaks on signing new players
Amorim addressed the team's transfer situation and provided updates ahead of the upcoming match against Fulham. They are looking to bring in a new goalkeeper.
"Onana is ready to play, just as he was last week, so we'll see who starts. MartÃnez and Mazraoui are out, but the rest of the lads are fit and ready."
"Will there be more departures and arrivals? You need to speak with Jason Wilcox about that. We have a department responsible for it. I am focused on our performance on Sunday.
"We talk every day. The idea isn't 'these players will leave and then we can bring in another one'. I don't know what will happen, but we aren't waiting for someone to leave to sign another player. The two are not dependent on each other."
Even before the pre-season tour, Amorim made it clear that five players—Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia—would not travel with the team as they were being prepared for potential transfers. So far, however, only Rashford has completed a move, joining Barcelona, while the others remain Manchester United players.
"I know it's not ideal to have players in this situation, but it's clear they want to play for a different club. We are trying to arrange everything so that both sides are satisfied. When the window closes, we have to accept everyone, and then a new chapter begins—anything can happen."
"I think it's always difficult to play against Fulham. They have a clear identity, and Marco Silva is a really experienced, smart manager. It will be a tough match, but every match on the schedule is tough."
"We are better, but that's also because we have different characteristics and can change them during the game. We have more options, and you can see we play a different style with Cunha, for example, and then with Šeško at the end, because he's a different type of player we can use.
"We're improving in that regard as well. We are creating more chances, so we are ready for any type of match. The biggest improvement we showed against Arsenal was that we didn't lose the ball as often when building up our attack," Amorim added, discussing the areas of improvement and the upcoming opponent, as reported by Sportal.
