Vipers, KCCA, NEC cleared to host UPL games at night under floodlights
Vipers Sports Club will play a majority of their home games in 2023/24 StarTimes Uganda Premier League matches at Kitende under floodlights.
The defending champions have been cleared to play eleven out of their 15 games at the St. Mary’s Kitende from 7 PM.
Vipers and KCCA FC introduced night games last as FUFA assessed the new venture in order to set new guidelines that will be used to that effect.
The team will host their first game at Kitende on Thursday 21st September, taking on Arua Hill from 7 PM.
Only four games against Kitara, Express, Soltilo Bright Stars and Mbarara City on the season's final day will kick off at 4 and 3 PM.
Meanwhile, despite the fact that KCCA tested the technology last season, less than half of their games will be played late, kicking off at 6.30 PM.
They start on matchday five when they host NEC on October 28th and then against Vipers, Bright Stars, URA, BUL, Busoga United and Villa.
NEC will host URA on December 6th in their only match to be played under the lights at Lugogo.
