Vinicius dribbles his way to new LaLiga record despite Real Madrid defeat to Girona
Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has broken a LaLiga record he also previously set, despite Los Blancos falling to an embarrassing 4-2 defeat to Girona.
Vinicus shines in Real Madrid defeat
Vinicius was one of a few bright spots for Real Madrid against Girona as they succumbed to a third LaLiga defeat in six games.
The Brazilian winger was quite lively for Los Blancos, giving them hope with a goal to make it 2-1 before assisting Lucas Vasquez’ consolation goal at 4-2 as well.
This helped him set a new personal best in the league by contributing to a goal in LaLiga for seven consecutive fixtures for the first time since he joined Real Madrid.

He has now scored three times and assisted six goals in his last seven games as he enters impressive form at the right time for Real Madrid who are chasing continental glory.
Vinicius sets new LaLiga record
Vinicus also spent the night tormenting the entire Girona defence and setting a new LaLiga record for the most dribbles attempted in a single league fixture.
The Brazilian speedster attempted a whopping 25 dribbles against Girona, more than any other player in LaLiga history since at least the 2005/06 season.

He will, however, be disappointed that he was only able to pull off eight of his dribble attempts, failing to beat his man more often than not.
Vinicius beat his own LaLiga record of 22 attempted dribbles, which he set against Real Betis in January 2023, although on that occasion, he also only completed nine of the attempted take-ons.
The Real Madrid frontman will be hoping for better luck with his dribbling as Real Madrid will certainly rely on him to destabilize defences as they enter the final stages of the UEFA Champions League and Copa del Rey.
