Christian Coleman Defends Sha’Carri Richardson
The reigning Olympic 100m silver medallist has yet to address the matter, but Christian Coleman spoke about it during the USA track and field championships, revealing why Sha’Carri Richardson should not have been arrested.
“I feel like it was just a sucky situation all around. Like I don't feel as if she should have been arrested. I mean, you know, people have discussions and emotions, and stuff like that, and she has things that she needs to work on for herself. Of course, so do I, and so do you,” Christian Coleman said in part.
“She's a human being and a great person. And I feel like we've been able to be like really good teammates like all year. Us coming together, like we're just two, like real dominant personalities, and she's to me the best female athlete in the world,” he added.
Amid all the drama, Christian Coleman also failed to live up to the billing at the championships, missing out on both the 100m and 200m teams for the World Championships. In the 100m, he finished fifth, while in the 200m, he managed to cross the finish line in sixth place.
