Victor Osimhen: Saga continues as Napoli reject €70m bid from Champions League club

Victor Osimhen remains the hot topic of this summer's transfer window as the Nigerian striker continues to push for a move out of Napoli.

Both parties are desperate to make it happen, but only for the right price. That is clearly the message being sent from Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who has rejected Galatasaray's bid for Osimhen.

The Turkish giants are attempting to break their club record by signing the Nigerian, who was outstanding while on loan with the club last season. His tally of 37 goals in 41 appearances helped them win the Turkish League and domestic cup, stamping his name in the hearts of Gala fans around the world.

After turning down offers from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, Osimhen made it clear his priority was to remain in Europe and compete in the Champions League.

According to transfer Expert Fabrizio Romano, Galatasaray submitted a formal proposal of €70m for Osimhen, with bank documents attached for payment guarantees.

However, Napoli president De Laurentiis wants €75m guaranteed and he has rejected.

The difference is not insurmountable, and it seems inevitable at this point that Osimhen will return to Galatasaray on a permanent basis, an outcome that will suit all parties.
