Victor Boniface celebrates deserved Bundesliga team of the season inclusion

Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has expressed his delight after being named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season alongside the likes of Harry Kane and Serhou Guirassy.

Boniface, who has been in scintillating form for Bayer Leverkusen this season, took to social media to share a graphic of the star-studded line-up without a caption, letting his selection do the talking.

The 23-year-old's inclusion is just a reward for his exploits in his debut campaign which saw him score 11 goals and provide eight assists for Leverkusen.

Boniface spearheads a formidable front three in the Team of the Season, alongside former Tottenham talisman Kane and Stuttgart star Guirassy, who has been in sensational form this season.

However, the Nigerian international isn't the only Leverkusen representative, with no fewer than five of his teammates also making the cut following their side's impressive run to the historic title.

Jonathan Tah finds himself at the heart of the defence, while Jeremie Frimpong and partner-in-crime Alejandro Grimaldo occupy the full-back berths.

Teenage sensation Florian Wirtz and Granit Xhaka complete Leverkusen's quintuplet in an eye-catching midfield trio that includes German-Nigerian Jamal Musiala.

Despite missing three months due to a knee problem, Boniface’s blistering start to life at the BayArena which saw him win the first four Rookie of the Month awards, was enough to get him into the coveted team.
