Uganda Premier League club URA FC has terminated the services of midfielder Salim Abdallah after the player absconded from club duty for over three months.

The Tax Collectors announced the decision on Sunday morning after failing to reach the player since March.

“URA FC can officially confirm that midfielder Salim Abdallah’s contract with the club has been terminated with immediate effect,” a statement from the club confirmed.

The club explained the reason:

“This is after the player went AWOL on 3rd March 2023 without official permission from the club and failure to heed calls and emails from the club officials.

Ever since, he is yet to return to date, which amounts to a breach of some articles in his contract and thus termination.”

Abdallah crossed over to URA at the beginning of the just-ended season after running his contract at SC Villa down.

He had signed an agreement to stay at the club until the end of the next season.
