URA FC set to capture Express FC goalkeeper

URA FC have been active in the transfer market and are yet to get enough of it. More players are still expected to join the Tax Collectors ahead of the new season.

Having already unveiled Moses Aliro and Ibrahim Wamanna, Sam Timbe’s charges are said to have completed a deal for former Express and Mbarara City FC goalkeeper Denis Otim.

The custodian is said to have signed a two-year deal with the four-time Uganda Premier League winners and currently training with them.

URA lost the services of long-serving goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi and have been in the market to find a replacement.

Otim, a good shot-stopper who can also play with his feet to facilitate playing out from the back, will only be one of the several signings at the club.

Denis Luzige Kisiriko, John Innocent Kisolo, Amis Bwangani and Godfrey Sekibengo are some of the players already signed and unveiled by URA.

Another goalkeeper, Rogers Omedwa, is also training with the team and is expected to be unveiled sooner rather than later.

URA won 10 games, drew 12 and lost six to finish fifth with 42 points last season.

They were 11 points behind title winners Vipers SC and will be hoping to close that gap in the coming season.
