KCCA FC head coach Sergio Traguil is aware of the club’s history in the FUFA Super Eight and will be aiming to win his first piece of silverware.

The Lugogo-based side will start their campaign in a clash with Wakiso Giants FC Friday night, aware that one big scalp has already been claimed.

BUL FC defeated Vipers 1-0 on Wednesday, which will indicate that no team can be taken lightly.

“We know the history of Super Eight. We already won it in the first edition, so it’s our objective to do it again,” Traguil said in his pre-match press conference on Monday.

There have been several changes made at KCCA, and it might take some time for the tactician to figure out some things.

But his side has been in excellent scoring form and defeated Kenya’s Kakamega Homeboyz in one of their high-profile friendlies.

Wakiso has never been easy prey for the Kasasiro Boys and Traguil has clearly gone through the past records to know what exactly to expect on Friday.

“Wakiso Giants usually create difficulties for KCCA. Last season we won 1-0 at their home and 3-2 here in MTN (Omondi) Stadium, and they also beat us in 2022 in May 1-0 here, so it’s a team that usually creates us problems,” the Portuguese revealed.

With up to six foreign players signed in the transfer window, KCCA means business and will hope to start the new era on a high by lifting the Super Eight Cup.

Serious business will start in the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminaries, but the Super Eight will present the club with a chance to fine-tune.
