Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has analysed his team’s victory against Tottenham, explaining why the Spurs boss opted for a high defensive line despite being two men down.

The Blues thrashed Ange Postecoglou’s side 4-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, aided by two red cards their hosts suffered.

The hosts scored first, but Chelsea equalised from the penalty spot. Following the red card, the Blues found it easier to get in behind Tottenham’s backline due to their insistence on playing a high line, the Blues eventually capitalised as Nicolas Jackson scored a hattrick later in the game

 "Look, when you are on the top of the table, you can try everything. When the confidence is there you try it. If we try something like this, then in every movement, you concede. We are maybe in a different position and with space in behind we can maybe score more goals."
