Tom Lockyer: Luton Town confirm their captain is 'responsive' after suffering a cardiac arrest during game against Bournemouth
A Premier League clash between Bournemouth and Luton Town had to be suspended after Luton captain Tom Lockyer collapsed in the 58th minute and had to be stretchered off the pitch.
Luton Town have now confirmed that the player suffered a cardiac arrest and described him as "responsive" after being taken to the hospital for professional care.
Lockyer collapsed in the 58th minute of the match, which was tied 1-1 at the time and the paramedics immediately swung into action to help him as the players and everyone else in the stadium looked on utterly concerned.

Luton Town put out a statement via their official platform to explain what happened and give positive updates on Lockyer's situation to put the minds of the concerned football world at ease.

"Our medical staff have confirmed that the Hatters captain suffered cardiac arrest on the pitch, but was responsive by the time he was taken off on the stretcher," said Luton.
"He received further treatment inside the stadium, for which we once again thank the medical teams from both sides. Tom was transferred to hospital, where we can reassure supporters that he is stable and currently undergoing further tests with his family at his bedside. We would like to thank everyone for their support, concern and loving messages for Locks."
There is no official word from the Premier League on how the rest of the match will progress as both teams were tied at 1-1 when the unfortunate incident happened.
