The buzz around the Nigerian Olympic trials is primed to be the best in recent years as Nigerian athletics fans are glued faithfully on what to expect from their superstars such as Tobi Amusan and Chidi Okezie in Benin.
With activities scheduled from June 16 - 18 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, which will be used for the selection of athletes for the Paris Olympic Games and African Championships in Cameroon, top Nigerian stars are already in the ancient city ready to lock horns with their peers.
They'll be aiming to seal their spots on the plane to Paris, as well as earn the bragging rights of being called the National Champion.
That said, here are the top Nigerian athletes already in the country and the newbies who'll be competing for the first time on home soil as they gun to don the country's colours one day.
Tobi Amusan
The reigning World Record holder has never failed to show her patriotism by appearing for national assignments. She's the outright favourite to win the women's 100mH event, which will be a historic fourth consecutive title.
Chidi Okezie
Fresh from blazing to his blistering 44.97s to surpass the automatic Olympic qualifying standard in the men's 400m event, Okezie is in the country for a successful title defense and perhaps surpass his lifetime best set in Canada.
Favour Ofili
Star Girl is also in Benin and is expected to race in the women's 100m, where she will aim to hit the Olympic standard by targeting a sub-11s clocking.

Udodi Onwuzurike (100m), Seye Ogunlewe (100m), Usheoritse Itsekiri (100m), Enoch Adegoke (100m), Brittany Ogunmakin (400m), Dubem Nwachukwu (400m), Alaba Akintola (100m), and Edose Ibadin (800m).
College Athletes
All standout athletes at the just concluded NCAA Championships are in Benin. The group of Favour Ashe, Godson Brume, Rosemary Chukwuma, Tima Godbless, Ella Onojuvwevwo, Nnnamdi Chinecherem, Temitope Adeshina, Kanyinsola Ajayi, Dubem Amene, Ezekiel Nathaniel, etc.

The fresh faces fans will be seeing are Adaobi Tamugbo (100mH), Alexander Chukwukelu (men's 110mH), Moforehan Abinusawa (100m and 200m), and Israel Adeshina (Shot Put and Discus).
