‘They believe they can handle our team’ - Troost-Ekong responds to Rwanda claiming they can neutralize Nigeria's attack
The Super Eagles have struggled in recent matches against Rwanda, despite having world-class forwards such as Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Victor Boniface.
Nigeria drew 1-1 with the Amavubi in Kigali, but then suffered a surprising 2-1 defeat in Uyo during the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
This has given them confidence ahead of the clash, with Djihad Bizimana claiming that his team is not scared of the Super Eagles attack and they have a plan to neutralise their threat.

Ekong responds to Rwanda captain
Troost-Ekong responded to Bizimana's confidence by acknowledging the difficulty of playing away games in African qualifiers.
According to Allnigeriasoccer, Ekong said, "I think every team in Africa is difficult to play against away from home.
"We respect Rwanda, we prepare for them so I am happy to hear they believe they can handle our team, if that's their preparation, so we would see tomorrow in the game.”
Nigeria, currently holding the fifth position in Group C, desperately needs a win to maintain its World Cup aspirations.
Eric Chelle, the head coach, is depending on his offensive players to overcome Rwanda's defence and deliver an impactful performance.
