For the remaining eight slots, teams have to be among the best-ranked at the end of the qualification period and this will be courtesy of their remarkable performances during the whole qualification period. The qualification process already started on July 31, 2022, and closes on July 20, 2023.

Kenya’s 4x100m relay team comprises Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala, Boniface Mweresa, Hesbon Ochieng, and Samwel Chege. They are currently ranked eighth overall by World Athletics and fingers are crossed that between now and July 20, they will rise through the ranks.

They were in action at the International Athletics Meeting of the Province of Liege which ended on July 12 and finished second in the mixed relay behind Spain.
