Steven Gerrard becomes 4th highest-paid coach in the world with new Al-Ettifaq deal
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has extended his stay in Saudi Arabia after putting pen to paper on a lucrative new contract with Pro League side Al-Ettifaq.
Gerrard has joined an elite list of rich coaches in the world that includes Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp after he committed his immediate future to Ettifaq.
Gerrard pens new deal
The former Rangers and Aston Villa man has signed a new two-year contract that will see him stay with the Saudi Pro League club until the summer of 2027.
Gerrard, 43, joined the ever-growing Saudi Arabian club last summer as reported by Pulse Sports in what became his first coaching role since Aston Villa terminated his contract.
Ettifaq have rewarded the former England international with a lucrative new deal despite what has been a difficult first six months at the club, with the club currently sitting eighth on the Saudi Pro League table
“The project continues with Gerrard,” Al-Ettifaq stated in a post on social media platform, X.com, moments after the deal was signed and sealed.

Gerrard joins an elite list
With his new deal, Gerrard’s status in the world has skyrocketed, with the ex-Red now the fourth highest-paid manager in the world.
Gerrard’s new contract will see him earn a mega £15m a year at the Saudi club, according to a report by Goal.
This sees the former midfielder join a list of the highest-paid coaches that includes Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone (£30m), who is the highest-paid manager in the world, Guardiola (£19m), and Klopp (£15m).
With his future now sorted, Gerrard will switch attention to putting an end to Ettifaq’s poor run in the Saudi Arabian league, having gone nine matches without a win.
