South Africa 1-3 Nigeria: Flamingos beat Bantwana in 1st leg World Cup qualifier
Nigeria's under 17 girls national football team known as the Flamingos made a winning return to the pitch.
The team led by Head Coach Bankole Olowookere recorded a 1-3 win away against the Bantwana of South Africa in a 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup 1st leg qualifier.

The Flamingos playing at the Lucas Moripe Stadium were able to take the lead as early as the 20th minute through Shakirat Moshood.
In the 41st minute, Chidi Harmony scored the second for the Flamingos from the penalty spot as they went to the break with a two-goal cushion.
In the second half, Malebana pulled one back for the Bantanwa of South Africa from the penalty spot in the 47th minute.
With South Africa looking for an equalizer, the Flamingos scored their third through Harmony in the 68th minute.
The Flamingos held on late to take a first-leg advantage ahead of the return game.
On Saturday, March 15, the rematch is scheduled to take place at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
The overall victor will advance to the qualification campaign's third round.
