Nigeria's under-17 women's team known as the Flamingos have landed in Pretoria, South Africa.

The Flamingos travelled in preparation for their 2025 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup second round, first leg qualifier against their South African counterparts.

Flamingos and Samuel Eto'o

Upon arrival, they met with Samuel Eto'o Fils, the president of the Cameroon Football Federation at the OR Tambo International Airport early on Thursday.

Eto'o is a four-time African Player of the Year and the highest-scoring player in the Africa Cup of Nations to date.

Following a group shot, Eto'o shook hands with the young women and departed with words of encouragement.

The video of the Flamingos went viral on social media as the team bent the knee to greet Eto'o

The team led by Coach Bankole Olowookere finished second at the WAFU B Tournament and will aim to do better in South Africa.
