World champion Sha'Carri Richardson has been named the winner of the 2023 USATF Joyner-Kersee Female Athlete of the Year.

Richardson won based on her outstanding performances this year, in which she became the world's fastest woman after winning the 100m world title in a Championship Record (CR) of 10.65s at the World Championships in Budapest.

Throughout the season, she claimed the 100m crown at three separate Diamond League meetings and won the USATF Nike women’s 100m title in 10.82s.

With Budapest 200m bronze, Richardson became the first American woman to medal in both sprints since Carmelita Jeter took gold and silver in 2011.

Finally, in one of the most memorable moments of Budapest, Richardson anchored the US women’s 4x100m team to gold in a CR of 41.03s to pull off a glorious USA 4x100 sweep.
